Setup and Installation

Prerequisites

The only dependencies for Remotion are Node.JS and FFMPEG.

See:

• Installing Node.js - Minimum: Version 14.0.0
• Installing FFMPEG - Minimum version: 4.1.0 - only needed if you want to render your video.

Installation

You can initialize a new Remotion video using

npm

That's it! Wait for the installation to be finished and follow the instructions in the terminal.

Additional step for Linux users

Linux users need to install some additional packages to get Chrome/Puppeteer working correctly.
